I am honoured to be the recipient of the Golden Key Asia –Pacific Remote Community Literacy/ Numeracy Service Award. The Scholarship will enable me to continue as a volunteer coordinator of the Smith Family’s Learning Club in rural New South Wales. The Learning Club assists disadvantaged students to do their homework in a safe and supportive environment, and promote literacy and numeracy skills. I will also be able to add to my teaching resources and continue along the path of trying to make a difference in the lives of children, now, and into the future.
I intend to use the Asia-Pacific Community Award to inspire fellow young Australians to devote some of their time and energy to communities in need. Winning this award has been an incredible source of encouragement to myself, my personal endeavours and my career aspirations. For […]
